Love Libations

~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Thy silver tongue doth tickle mine sensibilities,
~Stirring passions to heights beyond
all earthly measure.
Flagrant mots professing endless love and adoration
ignite sweet fires in mine inner sanctums.
Recesses, that heretofore had been unbeknownst to me,
now surge with a newborn vitality.
I be flushed with the blush of rose petal pink
as I am swept away by tides of love emotions.
Their taste is sweet and I thirst for more
of these love libations.
I beseech thee to offer thyself with intentions pure
and honorable, that I might cast all caution aside,
thereby immersing mineself in thy heady offerings.
Thy fiery mots doth whet mine thirst for full adore
and I offer all of me to thee with carefree abandon.
Sip slowly of mine intoxicating sweetness,
~ for I be worth the savour.

Love is the unifying force which integrates
one’s soul with that of another.
~ Linda L. Dowd

these are words that should be written in large Golden letters...not only should this be by God a motto towards are mates, but also to our country, to our world...to pledge thyself to life itself....for the betterment of others...
and then, it would be a better place

glorious write dearheart, glorious and what we should all keep within our hearts...

thank you

This was amazing.
There are no words to explain it, but it caught me and pulled me along.

Excellent.

Ah, but 'tis thy poetic tongue,
that doth tickle my own poetic sense -
and having thus writ,
thou hast left me
savouring the sweetness
of thine poetic abandon...

Methinks, it suits the Lady well.

Loved it, Linda, you have done well with this. I hope to see more of this style from you.

Like Railegh or Blake, this is a difficult style to perfect but you have done it very fine justice Linda, such devoted love in words torn from the page of the past, thank you..

Dixie ~

Periodically I am moved to write in such a manner. I have had very little exposure to classical literature. It is as if it is already in me and it comes pouring out of my soul and onto the page. I'm pleased that you enjoyed it!

Linda,
What a simply beautiful and enchanting piece of poetry. I swear Shakespere lent his hand to your penning of this as the Elizabethan tone is so pure and wonderful!

Although this is a different style of writing, than you normally write, it is just as beautiful as all of the rest. And, reading your poetry, whatever the style, is always a pleasure.

I do so enjoy writing in the style of 'Olde'.  Mind you, I be flying by the seat of my bloomers and knoweth not what I be doing!

'Tis most likely that students of classical literature cringe at all the mistakes I most assuredly must be making!

I thank thee for thy most generous mots.

When I write this sort of a poem, I seem to be writing from another place ~ another time. I am totally swept away as the words pour out of my soul and onto the page. A transcendental experience!

(smiles) Yay, I don't even know much about classical manners of speaking myself, so I won't even dare to try, LOL! (giggles) But in any case, the poem sounds exactly like something that would beam brightly in the sixteenth century, yay, your writing is amazing and diverse, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Noah ~

To be honest, I don't know much about classical writing either. I suspect there are those out there who cringe at my representation of it. This style flows from me like a river and may not be technically correct.

I love it when I am passionately moved to write in such a manner!

Loveya,
Linda
