balmy evening
dances with words
of twilight
seemingly
to weave greetings
in & out
tops of trees

I ponder
this darkening...

while watching
birds circling
towers peaking
wryly
before me...

there...
was a new forged urgency
as pink
smoothed streaks of clouds
hued
interlocking mazes across
this twilight sky

tonight...

perhaps signifying

1/3 of my life left?

"oh" sprouts a mind whisper
"I have been so gifted".....

oh how
I wish
I could hitch a ride
along the spine of
this half-hearted
light folding into darkness

which grew
starry filled eyes
seducing my sun to bed

there are no sad hearts here~

tonight~

only this silver bench crackling
dusty pathways under foot

if I squint real hard
I can see legs of light
flickering
between silver
barked trees

seemingly exploring
those emerging
wide opened fields
red tiled spires
jutting brief impressions
of starry starry nights

green shoots
prodding out from moist soil

earth's awning
resonating pressure
moments of body-like
vibrations
wide churned passageways

between

life

and some place

I’ve yet to touch

to feel

as if I were
to wake up
in the heart of someone else’s
imaginations

with

morning sunshine
caressing
the very soul of
my ebbing pockets
filled with share
filled with desire
filled with spiritual emotion

can’t help
but feel the promise
taste
that romantic place

a gift shop
circuiting accession
ripping me
from the sad place

where I lived so long long ago...

it’s true yanno

we are what we
think & believe

we are
how we
treat others

we are
that person
whom possesses
those stifling little traits
we loath the most

or

that generous heart we wish to be
planning promises
on each and every tree

I smile
a smile
particularly heavy with hope
embrace this nameless evening
one more time
before dreams quietly fall
before my questions...
am I meant to be alone
wild and free?

I wished “he” were here
sitting behind me
with
hungry arms
wrapped confidently
around the whole
of my being…
until we meld
into the face
of one
his cheek affectionately
brushing my hair
his smell noticing me

and we
were shivering & damp
with hopeful eyes
of balmy evening
taking photos
of the
tendrilled hair
of moonlight
spreading expansively
through
our souls
until we touch
position of the hour
making moments
into ancient stones

yes,
I smile
& ponder
where he is
what is he doing
this exact moment
does he feel my thoughts
does he have
a face
a name
does he desire my minds
hopeful eyes
quietly falling in love
with this wide opened
road of twilight

Hmmm
I feel
the unseen
pressure and movement
Of yet to be told nights
coupled with day light
like a motorway round
the circling hills
of sky lights

Lee, to my mind, this is one of your loveliest and most meaningful of writes. Your words were full of life, beauty, love, and wisdom.

These were among my favourite lines:

"we are what we
think and believe
we are
how we
treat others
we are
that person
whom possesses
those traits"

~ May you attract the beauty that is inherent in you!

Loveya!

As I read your poetry, I feel as if I am on a journey through a beautiful mind.  I don't have to pack anything; I just enjoy!

"making moments
into ancient stones"

I love this line. Making our most treasured moments live forever in our minds. A lovely poem that touched something within me, one who seems always to be searching for the elusive 'he'.
