Quietly you were among us Sharing a word just now and then I didn’t really know you But felt you could be another friend I saw your smile when you wrote Your words lit up with a special light When you spoke, I listened Mari, I think of you tonight So much of you I did not know I won’t pretend that we were close But, I sensed you were one worth knowing Now, sadly, that door has closed It’s hard to think that you are gone This friend I never really knew I think of you as I write this poem It’s my way to express that I will miss you. You were one I did not have to know To feel the warmth and love you shared My words are simple, my thoughts with you I hope you know how much I cared. aziza |
