Why have you been afraid for so long for my name to fall from your lips?  Does your silence to me make you feel as though you cannot be harmed?  You are so sure to keep your distance, yet you listen and watch, but you do not speak.  I often wonder what it is you would say and do if you were not afraid.  Stolen moments of us are merely in my mind, though I long so much for them to be true.  Inside of me, I can feel what it would be like to live free and with true love.  It is only a breath away, except I cannot see how it could ever become reality.  Sworn to another life I cannot escape.  Hidden behind these walls declared to have been built for love and protection, are now nothing more than a prison of darkness.  What I knew of certainty was destroyed the first moment you touched me.  There is now a beautiful hope filled inside of me. It brings to me, both joy and sadness, yet enough light to keep me alive in this darkness that surrounds me.  Will I ever hear the words you long to speak to me?  Will there somehow, ever be a twist of fate that will allow us to know the peace in life that only the purest love can bring?  Or is it death that holds the key to another life, where we can love freely without consequence and with a quiet stillness in our souls?

~ May you find that stillness in your souls in the here and now.

Melissa~

Only because you encourage Construtive Critiques, do I offer these two suggestions -

I believe that line breaks would make your piece so much easier to read~
There is clarity and soft beauty in your thoughts~

--------------------------------------------
Why have you been afraid for so long for my name to fall from your lips?

Give this piece a title ...
I believe that a title is the doormat that invites the reader to enter and share~
There is a title somewhere in your thoughts,
I hope you can find it and present it~

If I haven't welcomed you before this,
please let me do so now~

~WELCOME~
