They stopped by this morning to drop off your things,
a bundle of memories wrapped within dust, photos and rings.
The air became still within this cold room.
Outside, fall's flowers fell from the sweet broom
we planted alongside sweet lavender and sage
on the slope near the heather.
The memory of you sat heavily in my heart,
as mourning doves cooed softly in the morning’s dew.

I wept alone quietly, holding the last handful of you.
Our song ended too soon, our bouquet did not last.
Now I fear I shall only want to live in the past,
for a future without you is bleak and without hope,
and my heart breaks each time I look out at the slope
where we once planted our dreams.

Today I shall plant more thyme for you,
sing your heart's rhyme,
sprinkle the essence of you,
buried within these silent screams.

It is not a final goodbye,
just a moment's Adieu.

Just a moments Adieu...that is good, very
good, as the poem is in it's entirity.

Nice one Kacy.

I just dropped in and you caught me short!  And I leave with a tiny piece of you stored away.  A tiny memory that you offered.

The title is inspiring, it flames in the autumn colors

You mind if I write my own version of the Septembers sage?
