Boughs of Strain

The boughs bow low a net of seine
Gathering memories in my brain
And drop-by-drop they spawn a dance
That places me a dreamer’s trance

Then weary turns to passive leery
Making eerie of the bleary
That sends me into hues of taupe
Into a blend of pleasures warp

And in the mist I see her clear
Warm and gentle very dear
Waiting in the inculcate
To maximize and validate

And when she looks into my eyes
I melt into a million sighs
The world turns into Eden’s space
And I am in a state of grace

She is my Eve of unrestraint
That ever lives my heart in faint
