Gentle Spirit

They are left
to wonder each day
why my eyes
shine this way
and how did that twinkle
get put there

and what exactly it is
that makes me smile

with curve of lip
painted red
in permanent,

and how my down
turns upwards fast

has some unknown
spell been cast
over me,

could this be
magic
that they see

or am I just
lost in dreams

of we.

I love the line:
"and how my down turns up so fast"

It seems that is happening with far too much frequdency to me these days. I relate very well.
