the piano
does not hear
itself

the clock
knows nothing
about time

the glacier
that we climb
does not know
it melts
beneath a sun
that feels
no warmth

and our climb
is but a craving quest
for wings
when we were meant to be
the sky

Exacting, thoughtful, and absorbing. A very nice write. I like it much.

Hey Anthony :-)
I love it.

I have written of wings so often...I love how wings become a step to the sky in your poem.  The thought intriques me and the poem is beautiful!

Could there be a me within this place of sky
the birds have come and gone and left me flight
yet no where to go to find the invisible thread
I yearn to sew but yes I tangle lines instead

I love it too.

I knew I was going to like this when I read the title.  As someone already indicated, this is profound.  Very much enjoyed...
