Falling

gather me
like fallen leaves
how I shy
away from trees
come and feel me
bunch and pile
tenderly walk
through me awhile
stay with me
we can sit and roll
touch has a way
to console
we somersault
upon the grass
breezing through play
this game won’t last
soon I will be a different
fallen song sung
changed to tickle you
as snowflake upon your tongue

Blankets Of Her    (for the man who loves the snow)

she entices him as she falls
he can not wait, he heeds her call
he lingers in her blankets of beauty
where noise stops and is off duty
he finds warmth within her frost
safely in her dusting he gets so lost
the silence in her whitened seas
no one around he is so pleased
only he and she upon this trail
in this quiet, he loves her detail
soothing comfort in her arms he feels
wrapped in her layers of quiet still

“all romantics meet the same fate”…Joni Mitchell

"come and feel me

love those gems you
hide in your poems Helen...
