Lullaby

Sing to me a lullaby
Sing of the wind whisp’ring though dark pines
Sing of a warm and welcome light
And soothe away these hateful times
Sing to me of peace and sunsets
Sing of dusk falling by the lake
Sing until I succumb to sleep
And sing again when I awake
For with each weaving of your words
The soothing salve that is your voice
I cannot help but linger near
And listen as though I have no choice
With each word you choose to speak or sing
I am lulled into a deeper trance
And I sway to the rhythm of your voice
A slow and soothing inner dance
So sing to me of better times
Of long autumn walks and peaceful miles
Sing of a world where no one hates
Of caring and peace and friendly smiles
And I will sleep, and I will know
Of all the wonders you have known
And listen to your lullaby
Until my dreams come call me home

Andrea, I think this is a lovely verse.  It flows nicely and rests gently against the heart.

You are equally talented with both pen and brush! Not only are you a fine writer, but you are a fine artist as well! I checked out your gallery of artwork, and if I were to pick a favorite, it would be "Moon Bath". Mind you, each and every one of them was a fine display of artistic talent.

Big hug to a talented aesthete!
