each day passes slowly without you
like forever stretched twice its size
wearing me out by the time I fight
getting out of bed is the problem
I keep hoping for one more second
knowing my dreams bring you in my arms
maybe, just maybe, I'll reach out and touch you
wake up from the hell I'm living in
and see you smiling next to me
not in the morning haze
where dreams and reality mix
like mists in a forest
evaporating as the daylight hits
leaving me with nothing
seconds tic away in slow motion
the world stuck in quicksand
everything moving at half the speed
reality is just a dream
sound delayed like a bad connection
mouths move but the words don't come in
a really bad chinese kung fu movie with voice over
I feel seperated from life
disconnected from everything
held in place by determination alone
as the world around me slips further into chaos
worn out with the battle
time immobile
waiting
body numb from the agony
when will it all end
take me to the day when I'll see your face
fast forward through the lonliness
the disconnect
and kiss me one more time

No one is more professional than I. I am a Noncommissioned Officer, a leader of soldiers.

Your beloved must surely know of the depth of your love for her as she reads your emotive words of longing and adoration.

They have ME all choked up! ~ and I am not the intended!

Keep the faith, Soldier Man. The day will come when you leave Iraq and return to hearth and home on American soil.

My prayers continue to be with you.

Love, Light, Peace & Harmony

It isn't often that I'll read a poem three times through without realizing I've done it. Sometimes in a book, rarely here. This one really got to me.

James, I hope your dream comes true real soon and the waiting and long days bring you quickly home to her.  *hugs*....jo
