It seems I’ve grown stupid with age,
And I thought I’d be a sage,
For things I once new as being true,
Has changed with a different view.
Things are O K that once were perverse
Everything good has gone from bad to worse
And I just don’t understand
( or so I’ve been told )
and those that tell me this say I never can
I’ve just grown too old.

I bought a new rocking chair yesterday
A place to sit and watch the world waste away.

William, I'll set my old rocker next to your new rocker and we can be 'off our rockers' together!

Rock on!

Giving you a big, ole country hug 'n a wink,
Earth Angel

Sounds good to me, it's the only kind of rocker I have the energy to be these days.

I couldn't help but be grabbed by your title.  If only I could count the things I thought would never be...   My mother always says, "Never say never..."    old

There is a poetic cadence
to the rocking chair
that holds my thoughts
suspended there~

Waiting for a rocking rhyme
to stir my inking well
Just one snippet of an idea
to spill the ink in swell~

I shall rock until such time
as my aged bones seek recline
then I will await a breeze
that does the rocking for me with ease~

Well ... I thought I saw myself in your title
Soooo, rocking with you~

Mind if I pull up my rocker too?
We're going to need a bigger porch soon!
This write is so true...so very true..enjoyed.

The rocking chairs grow in time and space
filling up it's porch, foot by foot
with the confused and curious minds
all scratching their heads
wondering why things turned out this way

And then it dawned down
like an angelic glow
life isn't easy and as simple as pie
it's more like an onion
layer by layer
pealing back one to reveal yet another

~Loved the poem wwshanner.
