Hoping Got Me Nowhere

Believing that you care
Knowing you do not
Hoping you remember
Knowing you forgot

Believing it was forever
Knowing love I send
Hoping for the true fact
Knowing you pretend

Believing those dreams
Knowing your fantasy
Hoping leads to nothing
Knowing of the reality

Believing your apologies
Knowing each excuse
Hoping you would return
Knowing it was no use

Believing all these things
Knowing you for years
Hoping got me nowhere
Knowing brought tears

And after the knowing, which brought tears, there will be a re-awakening to life, a new awareness of your own value, which will cleanse all sorrow and plant new seeds of love.
