Another year goes by,
I dream of thoughts that now seem stale,
As the lonely sludge of my existence oozes onwards.

I feel viscous in my thoughts and actions,
As my new life rises over the smooth,
Crystal clear blur that I call the future.

I have bitten the untimely, deadly bullet,
Locked away the demoralisation of my personal heart break,
Though my heart feels tired and stretched, I still soldier on,
Pacing on my path of shattered glass.

I feel drained and empty,
A void to where something,
Whole or not, must go.
