August 24

It was still night at 5.00 am
When Muys woke up at ring of phone
"Happy Birthday" a voice sang loud
"You are the first" my Mom said proud
While rubbing out the sleep in eye
So glad she called, but wondering why
My daughter Lynn, so far away
Would call her at 5.00 am that day

"Oh dear, oh dear" my daughter laughed
" I've set the alarm on my mobile you see
To wake up on time to play my game
But time in China is not the same
It's six hours later dear Moemoe mine
And thought 11.00 was just about fine
To wish you a happy birthday dear
Got all messed up with time overhere"

No use in getting back to bed
And so they chatted for about an hour
My daughter Lynn in China's Beijing
And Muys at home in her pyjama thing
The most precious gift that she could get
Due to time that was wrongly set
On a mobile in China, technology: Hurray
That early call made really her day

August 26

The sun was shining bright that day
And I rose early, went on my way
To making snacks, put up decoration
And meeting a guest at the Ferry station

A lot of people came over you know
And Mommy Muys was stealing the show
Ninety five and still going strong
Getting a bit tired, but not for long

She enjoyed every minute of that day
Much love and friendship came her way
They've read all your wishes and dear poems too
Muys said she loves all poets from pages blue
Your writings will be kept in a book
Along with the photo's that everyone took
So…thank you dear poets to answer my call
You've turned her birthday into a swirling ball

Well bless your sweet soul for sharing your Mom's special day with us!
I enjoyed the poem which was full of charm and wit!

It was great to see the photos! I thought your sister Marijka looks like a younger version of Mommy Muys! Amazing!

Gosh, I am so pleased you shared this with us!

Give your Mom and big hug for me ~ and keep one for yourself!

Thanks for sharing her special day with us all.  It sure looked like a wonderful day for a birthday, and you tell her for me she is really "stylin" in that lovely outfit and necklace - she looked lovely!

Titia~
Your mother is such a doll ... I would hope to look even HALF as good as she does if, and when, I reach her age~

Thank you for sharing so tenderly of your family~

This is a keeper for me and the Grandie Girlies~

Dear Muys, how elegant you are in that white dress with the appointed rose! And your happiness shows so clearly!
God bless!
Lovely poem and lovely pictures, greatly enjoyed.
