Love, you say (in little letters)
     whispers from a woman’s lips,
     disappears with sips and snits
     and it really does not exist at all –
     maybe it never did for her.
In little letters, love
     whispers from a woman’s lips
     and plays your life a game of it.
Gods or angels, who knows which,
     watch and laugh it up a bit
     at the cosmic joke that makes men itch
     and burn and yearn for more.
Memories haunt;
     they ooze and ache
     and nothing heals the ole heartbreak
     but for another dose,
     another ghost to fill the place,
     until you're   s t r e t c h e d
     past lower case

     to

     L O V A B L E .

And what a process it is but I'm sure there'll be a reward for those who endure.

When you do write it is something of substance and I'm hoping you can find the time for more.

Helen, thank you so much. That made my night/morning (been up the entire a.m. and now I'm going to bed)....as I've been stewing over whether or not anyone would get this poem or not. Of course, you would get it!

I liked Honeybunch's response. I am always pleased when I see that you have posted a poem.
