.

Turning back
looking over her sun kissed shoulder
for just one more glance
at the quiet waters of the bay
She could be heard to softly whisper,

"I shall return..soon...I promise"

Oh, how she always dreaded that final farewell
to her favourite summer sanctuary each September-

Already she missed the call of the Kingfisher..
The whirring wings of the delicate hummingbirds..
The howl of the wild coyote in the night..

But most of all..she would miss the bay.
For the bay held a special magic.
It's tranquil waters soothed her troubled mind..
Was it the glorious sunsets ending each perfect day?

...Or perhaps it was the familiar tug of a bass on her line.
And in the distance the delighted laughter of the wind-surfers.

It was more than ordinary magic..the bay lured her in..
almost hypnotically it held her close
in a loving embrace..
softly caressing her wind blown hair,
calming her like a giving lover.
Leaving her with a feeling of inner peace
she had never before known..

Something magical happens out there
she has yet been able to explain to anyone..
Perhaps, others must have felt it as well...
or had they?

Yes, she would remember
to bank each and every summer memory...
And, in the midst of winter
she will again realize
there lives within her
an invincible summer.

.

it is good to have a special place
mine is rhosneiger on the island of Mona(angelessy wales)
I try and go back there every year
Once the home of the Druid culture
You can sit by the sacred pool and almost hear them
Glad you are back
May you go again many times

Enchantress~

Seductively the water calls
remembering that in the ripples
there abides a pool of membories
that baptize the soul of the searcher
in poetic photography
waiting to be shared~

Come ye now from the edge
of the glow of Rondeau Bay
knowing that the magnetic memories
will draw you back again~

LOVED my postie card, I did~

Now ... some photos of those bass, please ?

I know ... no doubt mountains of laundry are waiting to be done, sprucing up of coming home ... *sighs* of just knowing the summer is fleeting ...~

Love you adorable lady ... and missed you muchly~

I fully understand this - I didn't go away at all this summer as I live in the best vacation spot there is!  There is something about the call of serenity that keeps us grounded, and I suppose Mother Earth invented that call, you think?  Lovely NL.

Yanno? I hate when you go on vacation,
but always know that when you return we are in for such treats..

methinks maybe there will be more to come.
