Grapes of Wrath
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Drink not the wine from grapes of wrath,
For its taste is biting and sour.
It does not flush, with rosy blush,
But renders one glum and dour.

“The time has come for man to lay down
his arms, and pick up each other.”

The grapes of California,
Juicy, plump and sweet,
Some are called chiquita
Oh so good to eat.

Grapes of Wrath are sour,
They make your taste buds swell,
But their glum and dour cannot compare
To a woman scorned from hell!!!

Fine write angelic one.....so, ya wanna go for a bottle of Chablis?...Cold Duck?....Ripple?....MD 2020?....

Toe, I just now noticed your poetic reply! Thank you!

Regarding the choices of wine offered, could we sample each and every one of them?

wwshanner ~

Your flattering comments brought to mind a commercial where the woman demurely asks, "How old do you think I am?"

I have good genes and look much younger than I truly am. I guess all those years of drinkin', 'n smokin', 'n cruisin' around don't show afterall! lol

You're a sweet man, WWS

Suthern Comfort ~

I shall gladly serve you whatever sort of spirits you should so choose. However, I think a mint julep would be more suitable for a suthern belle like your self than a glass of the 'whiney' type.  (btw that was very punny! I mean 'funny')

“The Grapes of Wrath” may yield
A sour disposition -
But despite the glum and dour,
I drank the composition.

Nicely done, Linda. Enjoyed.

(giggles in delight) I'm actually the only one in my family who has never drinked; not because I believe it is bad or immoral by any means as I certainly don't believe that, but because I've never quite understood the appeal of it when you could instead enjoy a great cup of jasmine pearls tea and such! (smiles) I also heard that alcoholic beverages negatively affect the bodies of Scorpios more than any other sign (even Pisces) and I don't want to accidentally fall into an addiction like that! (sigh) Yep, I'm steering clear from smoking and that kind of drinking, and instead will get drunk on poetry, community service, Dance Dance Revolution and gardening among other things, yay, this is wonderful, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah, sounds as though you really are an angel!

I've been pretty much of a tea-totaler most of my life. I also love fresh juices and smoothies and ice tea. Mind you, I recently got to liking Margaritas! Ole! This past summer I had both a mango and watermelon one ~ on two different occasions! lol Light on the Tequila and heavy on the fruit!

Loveya!

Linda
