Go Away

It was a cold winter that year
At my front door he did sit
Eyes of chocolate brown
Begging in his gentle way
Please may I come in
“No go away”. I did say
“I do not want your love.”
The next day at my door he did arrive
Undying love he did give
Big chocolate brown eyes begging

Winter moved into spring
Spring into summer
My mystery friend no longer at my door
I worried, I cried
Oh! Dear friend where did you go?
Standing watching nature play
My friend did appear
With another at his side
And
five babies trailing behind
Now seven babies with
Big chocolate brown eyes begging
In their gentle way
Please may we come in
Yes.....Do come in
I want all your love and warmth
As I snuggle a sweet puppy
With big chocolate brown eyes.

Aw, I know the feeling. I loved all our pets over the years and often feel it'd be so nice to have one. Then I recall having to get home to care for them, the daily our last kitty when she got sick and decide those days are behind me. I'll bet those puppies are adorable.

Love finds a way....especially if it arrives on four legs and two meltaway eyes....oh yes, and it never ever goes away.

All the babies now have fine homes. One is right next door. Now I have a wild bunny in the yard have had her since last winter. She lets me get pretty close to her and sits and listens to me talk to her.
