Part Four, Peace of Heart

She sat alone in the Grande old mansion
her thoughts in silent reverie
as she thought about the future
and days that used to be.

The coming hot August evening
brought certain stillness to the air
she moved to the mahogany writing desk
her hearts sadness she would now bare.

In verse she poured out her emotions
in the daily journal that she kept
the pages becoming faded and worn
from all the tears that she had wept.

She wrote of how she missed him
and of how she had loved him so
that she knew deep in her heart
it was time to let him go.

With ink and feathered quill
loves sweet sorrow she released
and this night she would have rest
her heart finally finding peace.
