Spirit of the Sea

My gaze upturned
Seeing surface, sequined and still
All that is left to me, floats, emotes
Without body or mind, only wonder exists
A capsule of breath, a locket of air
Soul calls to soul

A thimble filled of brine kept within
the darkened depths as shimmering
tendrils of time float lazily.   Without
body or mind, without darkness to
fear...a locket of hair left lingering,
dancing without a living desire.
Soul calls to soul

Seeking differently, the waves
Lacquered up above me, rolling
An endless ebb where desire wells
Moving forward, unassuming as ecstasy
Without body or mind, without touch or thought
Moving to the unknown
Soul calls to soul

Left behind as the bounds of man become
No more, as endless souls sink the blackened
Depths into the chilled dampness where a
Soul might rest.   Delicately caught, the breath
That rises from the core of earth, kept for
The moment of lips brushing, souls flushing,
Within the airless binds.
Soul calls to soul

And in the heartbeat of the sea
We are answered

Stunning write from beginning to end!  It lingers after the reading calling like soul to soul to be read again.

I think I could read this poem every day for a week, and take something new from it each time. Thank you both for this.

Yes,  it was a great duet,  one that I very
much enjoyed working with TD on...It was
her inspiration and our labors that made it
so.  Thank You!!!
