September come November

thus, self forbidding
mizzle to befriend me
in those years paled hoary
there appears an unoccupied
interim of time
where coming aware
splinters of having
lost my way

recall of déjà vu eviscerates,
something potent
gnaws, walls
between then and now
sheer only to opaque,

senility will most likely
clarify what
motions were made, for
snapped memories color decades,
but eye’s grit decrees absence

two fingering dimensional
images does not make
them warm for a second time

I would be a girl again, if
doing so meant mother’s
lap should hold shed
sentiments or
father’s shirt would
gather denimed memories
and clouded outbursts

perhaps once this
decade is fulfilled, I shall
see Octobers again
warming to those days between
September come November
when pain will ease

perhaps once this
decade is fulfilled,

perhaps, once

perhaps

This made me think of when i was a small boy, during the autumn months, where 2 foot deeps leaf piles would become a playground for everyone, all the sunset colors of the leafs, the slow sunsets of orange and red. The Happiest days of my life.

Pure Inspiration.

perhaps....and it shall, a very moving and delicate rhyme this morning Lady Jane.  Very much enjoy your ability to spark such deep emotional thoughts...

you need a hug

Thank you, Lady.  Tomorrow will be 18 years since Dad left, and in November, Mom will have been gone 14 years.  But I don't forget the little things, which made the hard things easier.

And the bigger memories keep me going, each day.
