lady on front stoop
poker in half moon fingers
breaks each
single
window
pane
rage flying

charcoal man sittin’ on heels
across street
Panama white as bone
cigar

arrivistes point
sneer
     leave her be
lady trying to work out a problem
     don’ preshate you
     laughin’ at her

he chuckles
deep
I’ll be damned laugh
shakes head
    breakin’ a lady
    like breakin' a mule

she shatters last piece of glass
drops poker
leans on knees
hair sweated
cotton skimpy stuck to breast

charcoal man jaunts to porch
arm around shoulders
lady drops weary head
       ah bébé
       don be couyon
       some more

lady leans
comment je v'as faire
he lifts chin
kisses cry mouth
leads her through
screen door

flies gather
buzzing comment faites
at broken windows

I keep thinking that when I have the time, I will copy these all in a file on my desktop. A wonderful series, that I do wish I had the ability to do.

This one just makes me sit in silence.  I can feel her pain - and her need.  And, I still like that charcoal man.
