We walked past the stars and the gently weeping gusts of wind We journeyed to the warm cooling blanket found lost in pastel overgrown gardens Warming and comforting like the never forgotten scent of home Flowers turn to glittering ice sculptures and give birth to the magical dance Frost runs down trickled petals and symmetrical leaves Revealing a reflection of you and me Out here on the perimeter Its scarce and empty Pitch black consumes the whites of your eyes leaving you blind and numb Yet we always find each other when its said and done We shared our hopes and our dreams We dreamed of dreaming everything And thats when I found you You and all your perfect flaws You and all your perfect embrace I watched the sun give birth to life as it radiated its fiery message of love to the deepest black in space The most amazing thing I saw this all in your face I watched forgotten friends from the past join hands and anoint the birth of a new heavenly land The most amazing thing I saw this all in the palm of your hand I saw the creation of a Queen and King As I watched God himself bless you with angelic wings I watched myself grow old and frail like an eroding mountains fading tale And then I looked in your eyes and they told me true love always prevails They told me you were always there for me when everyone else fails Nothing was spoken Even love knows when silence is token So we watched the tail lights of cars drift into a vine of alleyways and tropical concrete jungles We awed at the size of things and the shape of things And laughed when we realized the state of things We found each other perched on the perimeter and peering in We found each other as cosmic kin As I stared in your eyes I realized I would never be lonely again Now that Ive found my cosmic friend |
