An Imaginary Pip Party (2003)
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

It had been a beautiful Auguste day for a gathering of our Circle of Friends. Father Ron had been Passion(s)ately tending to his garden in Suthern NewEngland(lazurlu)with his trusty tool Kit by his side. Inspite of the Honeybee(s) buzzing about, Marti, Martie, and Suetang had been lending their green thumbs for weeks leading up to this long-awaited event ~ under the watchful eye of a curious, and highly adorable, (Madame) Chipmunk.
As Sunshine glinted off their littlewing(s), butterflies flitted among the Buds, Petals and Blooms of Roses in White and Golden hues with leaves of Ivy green.
At the onset of the party, Janet Marie was seen being escorted by Sy's Mysteria dragon which was known by mortals as Randy. The Local Rebel without a cause, soon arrived with Denise who is such a SunnyOne to be around. Ericc, Brian, and machiner each came on their own so that they could freely mingle among the crowd. Tim & Joe found the Local Parasite at the Foxyoasis and asked him to invite his friends Ratleader, Aenimal and the Scorpio(n) to the party. Angels Earth, Mistletoe, Timothys, Eminor and Dark flew in together on a wing and a prayer.  Goldenrose and his Honeybunch (A Romantic Heart), made a grand entrance shortly thereafter. Then came Jil & El_C, Tim & LeeJ, Gina & Jaime, and VAS & Ctowen. Christopher arrived later with Trillium (looking pretty as a picture!) on his arm. BC the troubador, crooned songs of love, even the moon smiled down from above. LongJohn had Something-in-his-socks and when he stubbed his little Toe(rag), he cried out the expletive, "pisumnux!!!". "Is there a doctor in the house? "At your service!", cried out Dr. Moose. He then proceeded to put LJ's cute little Toe in the Icebox to keep down the swelling of its itty bitty fleshy parts. The whole scene darn near put Paula over the edge with hysterics!
The Enchantress, who has sultry Greeneyes, lent her touch of Charisma to the festivities. Ethome, Ecrivan and D.Lester Young thought that she was a SmartChick---in more ways than one! Bottles of bubbly graced the patio tables and MARK and Brad had the honor of opening up several 'Mag'nificent Magnu(m)s of champagne. As clouds passed above, our Miss Vicky prayed for no Raynes and Kaoru sang a WindSong to the Wind. Earth Angel, being a MASTER chef, did most of the cooking! (Actually, she was more of an Amature!) All was going well until Decaflame(s) started shooting out of the QjQ--I mean, BBQ! Ed with his quick mind, had the situation under control in no time. "Thanx Wranx!", EA cried out and gave him an angel hug. Corinne was her usual sweet self and offered to help Linda clean up the mess. Rick and Rich gave Nan a hand in serving jellybeans, Margherita(s) and hot KoKo to Kaile, Kielo, & KJ. Larry chuckled, saying, "Methinks there be a poem here! "Denise & Elizabeth just shook their heads and laughed affectionately at their friend.
Ptwils, yv, Mirrorman, and Giel Marlock popped inside the mansion to watch a bit of the movie, "The Goalie" and they all agreed that Ceinwyn is 1_slick_lady! Patricia, who believes she is Not A Poet, is truly a Poet deVine. She recited poems by Kahlil gibran which Justbleu the minds of all in attendance. Seymour (Earth Angel's Mr. T.) cited sweet sonnets while the Balladeer entertained the crowd with his yarns aplenty! Peter, the Adonis, wooed Quatro women by Bonfirelight--Roniece, Martina, Chris - and Susan the Hockeychick. This turned Wayoutwalt's blood to Ice. He told GhostWriter and OwlPoet that their friends Drexler, Daniel and Ishmael should put Peter under CastleGuard to keep him away from all of the women!     The Gunslinger said he'd keep a lookout in case the Adonis-wannabe escaped! This put (Always)Lisa in BtwnRockandHardPlace because of her split loyalties to Peter and the Gunslinger. Everyone congratulated Thomas on his 119gold(en) wedding anniversary to lovely wife Alyssa who was quite the Temptress. Severn and Acies said that if he ever left her, he would be a real Dopey Dope! Wise VAS and joyful Joyce Johnson totally concurred! Lady Santos, with her Gentle Spirit, lent a touch of class to the occasion as did dgVagner whose smile made the day appear even brighter. Professor Gloom told tales of gloom and doom and Garysgirl spoke of her Honey-Love. ThisDiamond shone like a sparkling and precious Gem. Loner was hugging a Papabear and a SarBear that were given to her by her Lovebug ThunderMage. We all enjoyed sharing our Nakdthoughts with one another in peaceful harmony--and Serenity reigned supreme. The Inkedgoddess regarded the Skyfire above which was filled with Skyshine and Starshine--and for a very long Startime. As the Midnitesun settled in the horizon, the cooling Nightshade was a welcomed relief. With the rising of the Catalinamoon in the colorful Suthern sky, the moon goddess, Marge Tindal, listened to SPIRIT and the haunting sound of a Hoot_owl_(rn) mixed with the beautiful music of a BluesSerenade and a nearby froggy. Marti, with an exceptionally artistic eye, photographed the beauty of the evening for posterity ~ later to be used as backgrounds for her exquisite poetry at pipTalk.com. Meanwhile, a Gypsi(Ness) was giving Crystal ball readings by the pool to the delight of the amazed Pipsters. As the Sun was setting, everyone went for a Duncan the ocean and poor Titia got bitten by a Krawdad! Darlings Kellie and Krissy just giggled and giggled! Krissy's mom, Marsha, told the girls that they shouldn't laugh at others' misfortunes. Later they all took a Saunni, enjoying the LastMoments of the day. The ever-so-observant Noah, Prince of the PiPsters, absorbed all that he saw, heard, and felt and then set about turning it all into poetry and songs tobe enjoyed long after this special day had ended. Red Stone took us to fantazzmagorical lands with his flights of fantasy far beyond the Shadows of Time. As Dawn drew nigh, romantic JamesMichael sang songs of love from Hawaii, and the living Angel, Vandana, sang those from India. Sophisticated writer, Sudhir, told tales from India as well, and kindly Kethry spoke on Australian Folklore. ShaolinsOnlyPoet gave us some insights into her home in China. Newcomer, David Carrson from the Emerald Isle, shared his visions and thoughts on his homeland as well. The evening was rich with the sharing of diverse cultures from around the world.
With the Passing Shadows, father Ron breathed in the night air and then Exhale(d) a Sy of relief. All had gone well, and perhaps next year it might even be (b)Edder! A good time had been had by all and Father Ron announced that each June(mac), he Hope(d) to make this a Pilgrimage for Passions(ate) poets. As his guests departed, he bid each and every one of them a "GoodKnight".
Meanwhile, CaptainHair and his friends Lighthousebob and Interloper, remained on the beach with eyes still searching for The Lady In White as they gazed out to SEA.

Linda - what a tremendous party!  Just getting the guest list together was a great achievement back then in the long distant past.  Three years can be a lifetime!  Well done!

I had a blast. Girlfriend, when you throw a party, you throw a party!! The pictures will be ready soon and will be posted!

Linda, this is a major accomplishment and really stretched your imagination to points far and beyond and even back. I shed a few tears, especially for our special Chipmunk. I miss her so much.

Again, Hoorays to you and thank you so much for the giggles and for including me.

Love you, Marti

Bunches of Honey ~

Being a master of such writes yourself, you understand the complexity of bringing it all together ~ and the unfortunated down-side is that there will be names that are inadvertantly  omitted.

Sending you a warm hug 'n smile,
