Lady or the Tiger?

I saw your face reflect a peace I had never seen in it
your beauty radiated with this almost incredible aura
I wanted to bottle it and take it home to open on a rainy day
I wanted to hold a mirror to you to capture your reflection
I had never seen you so lovely or loving
Then
It all smashed into shards of tightly held tears that splintered at my feet
like tiny crystals of glass the light bounced into a rainbow's arc of emotion
history washed over us and the roles were predetermined
our lines were memorized and well-rehearsed - the costumes still fit
and your face became a kabuki mask and concealed you behind the facade
Now
You have become the lady or the tiger,
and I don't want to open the door just now,
Maybe someday;
But not now.

I'd like to see you write more on this ...
not one long piece ...
expand the thought and theme in other pieces

Well done!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
