A Memorable Moment In Time
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

It had been an arid,
and oppressively hot, summer's day.
As the fiery sun slipped out of sight in the horizon,
a cooling breeze began to stir,
~reviving our listless spirits.
My betrothed took my hand in his and led me
from the verandah of the Victorian manor,
down to the meandering river that coursed
through a lush and verdant glen.
Reflected moonbeams danced on the dark swirling waters
~ transporting us to a world all our own.
The night was full of comforting sounds,
~from the soulful cries of a distant loon to a
choir of singing cicadas.
The air was sweet with the mingling fragrances of
wildflowers and hay from a nearby field.
He then guided me to a copse of poplar trees by
the water's edge and gently pulled me down upon
the cool, soft grass.
We lay there together, enjoying the ambiance of
a beautiful summer's evening in the country.
As the luminous moon rose in the evening sky,
there was a distinct change in the atmosphere.
The air had cooled and was damp against our skin.
Drawing me into his stong, protective arms,
he held me in a warm and loving embrace.
Beneath a celestial blanket of twinkling stars,
we shared our hopes and our dreams,
~ lost in a memorable moment in time.

Love is the unifying force which integrates
one’s soul with that of another.

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, this is soooooooooo beautifully romantic, dearest friend, I have dreams ever so similar to this ever sooooooo often, as I've longed for years now to know what being in true love really feels like, and want to live this blissful experience as just imagining it convinces me it's the most beautiful feeling in the world, and is in fact an otherworldly feeling! (sigh) God Bless You, dearest friend, you have a golden, floriferous heart, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Girlfriend this is a hot 'moment in time.' Hope all is well with you. I'm sure you have your days.

The air is getting cooler at night and autumn can't be far. I love the season but it leads to winter, my least fav of the four.

Love ya, Marti

Oh how beautiful and peaceful.  One of those wonderful "forever moments".  This one is going in my library.

EarthyGal~
Your romantic thoughts transport us to that special 'moment in time'~

BUT ... and this is a BIG BUT (no pun intended) ...

I LIVED in that house !!!
I played on that upstairs terrace !!!
I played 'sing a song fine and make it rhyme' in a swing at the end of that porch !!!
Inside that house are french doors leading from the living room into the dining area !!!
Though that house wasn't in a lush countryside, but on a street in Jacksonville, Florida ... I lived in that house as a five to six year old !!
There were hydrangeas on the lawn in front of the porch~

You just gave ME ... a 'memorable moment in time' alright !!

I've just gone on a search and found this poster print ... it should arrive next week !!!

Well ... just think of it ... you sure excited one person to the limits of excite this Saturday in August !!

Linda, somehow you have made me so incredibly nostalgic for a moment I never had. How do you do that girl???
I could be jealous.
But I'm not.
Just loving your words. xx

Misty Lilacs ~

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I love your pseudonymn! It makes me feel calm and the scent of lilacs comes right out the montior and into my home office!

Yes, like you with the loss of your Mom, I am having the occasional difficult moment believing that both my parents have passed in these past few weeks. Most of the time I am doing very well ~ but then there are those moments when I cry and cry and cry. They each should have had a good twenty years of living to do. I suppose God felt He wanted two of his angels to return Home.

Thanks for the sweet and thoughtful comments, Marvellous Marti!

Love ya 2

Yes, it is a cool morning here as well. The leaves have begun changing colour and there is a distinct chill in the evening air. Summer is slipping away so swiftly!

Ooops! I had written a response to your lovely senryuic reply, however, I just noticed that it is nowhere to be found! I guess it flew into cyber space!

I shall thank you again, Dear Doctor!
