it never was much more really
perhaps a momentary lucid
a horizon with her feet in the sand
part time proper but still dreaming

with gloving hands over my eyes
blinded on purpose but I remember
the perfume like exhaust wet with jet
just dripping for how fast questions

but not waiting for thoughtful answers
or for me to turn around face full
and look down her leaning
at what could have been dangerous

for strangers locked in close confine
with the cuffs on and nothing else
except the time to give want to it's due
and perhaps a moment more or less

to look back at some slippery second chances

life insurance, for less then pennies a day, memories, filtering through our out of body experiences...right behind us, coaxing us onward and upward

lovely morning write...

DS

"and look down her leaning
at what could have been dangerous"

It is much easier to let a moment pass, then to dare to pick it up.

"and look down her leaning
at what could have been dangerous"

I learned from a
gentle friend
to look
even when it can be
dangerous...

Danger can be ever so enticing and whet the appetite for more ~ but, it seldom is a meal that sates for long. However, the meal can be quite enjoyable while it is being partaken of.
