While wanting I am unattached
and in desire I’m free
to see the chains of passion
inch by inch detach themselves
from flesh grown old and older still
than I thought would ever be.

Yet linked forever I know this;
passion is inborn
and it rises, rises, rises,
like a bird into the sky
within the youthfulness
of soul’s pure energy.

Clang, clang, clang, and clink!
There’s passion at my feet;
what a stupid place to be
but life’s a cutting freak
and a bad to intolerable
cupid in disguise
until the breeze of spirit love
lifts up what’s meant to be!

passion at your feet
meandering up torso
the thrill delightful

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
