I Am Shadow

You bring me sorrow
wrapped in bright colors
and caresses.

You bring me loneliness
like warm hands
on bare skin.

But when she calls,
you disappear ~

a mist in the desert.

She is your sunshine

and I am

shadow.

Sigh.

The contrasts in your poem really tugs on one's heartstrings.

Very well written.

Actions that would bring shame in the light, are boldly performed in the shadow.

Ah  But the shadow allows and conceals.

Is there love for the shadow?   Or...is it the excitement of its secrecy that is so drawing?

Does one run to the shadow...for love of the shadow?  Or...for what is allowed in its embrace?
Pardon my pondering and rambling.
Wonderful write!!!

Sorrowful without being sappy, this is a powerfully honest write, and I love it.
