Straying Beyond the Pale

In the quite backroom
of a hundred small thoughts
nestled cozy under feathers soft
the answers and reasons are circled
holding onto each other
like the wind a tree
and the dear heart light
casts a glow of purity

Digging delights the hand
dirt crusted now with truths
I see how easy it really is
to build a garden out of stepping stones
and just one small plant

Listen how the coyote howls morning
mixing birds into the air and stirring
I fly across the delicate beginning
of a new day    intent on straying
beyond the pale

With the right plant....and the right stones....and the right hands planting....only then.

I love this poem. It's such a beautiful picture of a single moment and the dimensions within it that no one but you could show us....

Smiles. Sounds like my kind of garden.

I really like how you've expressed yourself here and, in the pale or beyond, I think that your poetry is very sound and engaging.

God bless.

I love this, reminds me of me, first thing when I get up at 6, I open the backroom window that looks out on my backyard feeder and listen for the first hummer...they don't disappoint for the first ones wake up about the same time as me, and within minutes the chirping and fighting and feeding starts...and me I am listening, taking my bath...waiting for day to immerge beyond the pale .....great poem

I especially like the image in the third stanza of this one, the coyote and the birds, and you.

As I walk along the stones through the garden that has always been, great pleasure arises from the fragrance of the flower that is you.

(smiles) Yay, this is such a beautifully upbeat and feel-good meditative release, dearest friend, you can indeed make a gorgeous garden with just one plant, as I have been trimming a new redwood bonzai tree with a tiny pebble garden and I always love fantasizing it as a microcosm for a fairy colony of sorts, yay! (giggles) This is beautiful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Going there by yourself?
Safer that way
and then you may not have to explain it.
