Signs of Maturity

I was thinking the other night
about signs of maturity.
What if I were involved
in a relationship, and
she decided to leave me,
believing what she was
doing was right for her.
And instead of feeling like
she had offended me, and making
myself a victim of rejection,
and becoming hurt and angry,
and making her a person
in need of forgiveness,
I simply decided not to hold
her hostage to my emotions,
instead applauding her
decision to move on.
Wouldn't that be easier
than going through
all of those emotions.
I believe so.
I think I'll
try it.

Probably that would be the mature thing to do.  I'm not ever going to grow up, so why should you?

Thank you seraphin, Joyce, Pilgrimage and SarBear for the nice responses...
I believe that to accomplish those goals I would have to be more loving and caring and accepting and forgiving...these things I am working on...James
