poverty grimaces a smile
and keenly watches
as abuse’s hushed hisses
contradict the bruises
its whispers slip through the air
too soft for the ear to hear
settling instead on the spirit

give up give up give up
give
up

you do not matter

why fight?
tomorrow
will be
the
same
as today

why cry?
no one
can
or
will
save you

give

up

give
in

to the whispers

lay down your arms
send not your prayers
for Heaven
does not
hear
you

Do not listen dear
to the lies and bent truths told
there is always hope

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

oh I do know
my hope is alive and well...but this is nevermore in more ways than one...for to me it is nevermore, but to some it is reality....

From a survivor, you painted it correctly.
Thank you.

You know my thoughts;
you feel your own strengths
given time....

and you've the time
to develop more.

I know.

You know.

Come, sister...

climb.

I know lady, as grim as this might read, it is not so, given the vantage point from which it is written...*takes a step* and yep...each day, me thinks us higher....
