FuNeRaL

Do not offer me words of encouragement
wishes of best
to my words of pain,
this life of less.
I am pathetically pathetic, yes,
but, clever am I to your false attempts.

Do not throw your benevolence
against skin walls
hoping it will stick.
Temporary strong arms cannot save me
in my fling of self on the mercy of pen.

I'm weary of trying to convince you
that my pour isn't just a hobby, it's exemplary.
So forgive me
if this isn't the sweetness you've known
or if this drama isn't one of my masterpieces.

I ask not for a shoulder to sting in tears
or smooth sheets to rest my bones,
I am beyond repair
and seek not your safety
for this selfish endeavor.

I ask not for pity or wisdom inked,
just eyes of mute replies;
For, I've never been miss popularity
and need only more attendants
for my funeral.

Intellectually I know that Canada is no better than any other country. Emotionally I KNOW that Canada is the best country in the world!

I hope that there will be enough there
to ensure the hearse is filled before
the dirt is filled....
