Deep in the dip of emotive states
a sigh overfeeds on a need
to one day sit like a bloated toad
unable to exit from hope.

But, lo, the mysterious forces unknown
can’t abide that “toad in a hole”
and the sigh rises up from the inner within
into the range of my hearing zone.

So very unlike the fall of a tear
sighs burst like emissions of steam
when told to forsake the product of dreams
and buy into reality
but ready air catches graceful bow-outs
and places them someday renewed
back into hope’s trendy boudoir
of “better say nought than be sorry”.

And in this perceived temporary abode
sighs have a short memory
for again, again, the feed on a need
until there’s no hope for a bloated toad
and it once again hits the road!  (Sigh)

sighs DO have a short memory.

Well writ!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
