scenes deleted from old home movies
re run through our minds.
lines that never made the final cut
echo through my head.

it's only natural for those so young
to hide their eyes and run away
but the questions we never made the answers to
are gonna stay with us until we're old.

how can such few hours
remain running through our blood
even when the poisons that made us so sick
have been long washed away?

seven numbers plus two more months
and another year to both our count
put life-lines two-touch away
but we never carried through with promises so slurred, did we?

the truth is always thought to be a lie.
but this feeling in my gut
still can't be ignored
and that color to your eyes
pierces through the thickest clouds.

stories made then altered for effect
make us who we are
but would break us if ever really spoken.

why can't we get away from ourselves?
we couldn't ever save each other.

Sounds of a lifetime of questions can haunt our souls endlessly ...
there is always a timeline for each answer to surface

no matter the amount of pain

I feel this needs a desrving hands up ...
