Acceptance
By Larry Chadwick

If I penned my heart and shared it with you,
I have complete confidence you’d know what to do.
If I voiced my feelings in expressions meant as a gift,
I trust you’d receive it as a meaningful lift.

If I touched you tenderly as I like to do,
I’d accept your response as a gift from you.
If I sit and gaze longingly into your eyes,
I’d see your return gaze as a meaningful prize.

If all that I offer is returned in kind,
I’d be totally confident your heart is mine.

August 4, 2006

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

You speak the truth Larry. (-:
I liked how it flowed smoothly. Lovely description of acceptance.

Mourning Dove
When the dove died
She fell by our pool.
I saw blue
Among pearl-brown feathers

Sigh, so good to read your heart-thoughts again. How could anyone say no to this plea?

Karilea,
Nope, I wrote it at work after five on my way out the door and I'm not online at home. And thank you.

Jill,
I'm pleased you liked it. Thanks.

Sy,
That's a relief! And thank you.

SusieQ,
Thanks kindly. And welcome to Passions.

Susan,
Thank you for sharing and welcome to Passions. Hope you like it half as much as I do.

Martie,
Thank you dear lady. Someday I'll be here more routinely. Until then, my apologies for missing so much of your knew found wisdom.

You know this one turned my heart to putty, right? *S*

As I told Seymour on a poem titled the same... for me, there was birth... and then there was life... the latter beginning with the miracle of acceptance. *S*

Beautiful write! *S*

M,
Thank you. I brought home a laptop and did the wireless thing and shared the write with Nancy Lee. My summer has had it's bumps but I'm still ticking. Likewise I hope you have had a pleasant summer as well.

Ruthie,
Thank you so much. I can't imagine a better way to start life than with acceptance. How lovely to see you here.

LeeJ,
I'm not sure I've ever seen you vexed before. And thank you for your kindness.

Ethel,
Thank you kind friend. I pray all is well with you!

Catrina,
How generous of you. And it is nice to see you here. Peace.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
