Mia

say the grass
is a warm shade of jade
where you landed
say you still sing
first thing in the morning
say you feel
his little feet
in your hands
his daddy’s breath on your collarbone
say the tales we told
still loop and cross
your mind
make you smile
say you remember to blow
luck dust just
as the sun sets
say you whispered a small
goodbye

as you stepped
quickly
on the stars
turned
and left us

Oh, Kate. I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Tears are literally splashing on my keyboard as I am responding to this exceptionally emotional read. You wrote with such eloquence, strength, dignity and love. I am wrapping my arms around you for even some small measure of comfort for you.

I truly am saddened by your loss.

Loving you,
Linda

OhKate~
I'm coming back in here to let the folks know that Mia is/was your beloved niece, who was taken from you in an awfully tragic accident ... the youngster in the photo is her son, Reign and she also leaves a grieving husband, Corey~

We hold you all in prayer vigil~

May your heart find comfort in memories,
may your soul be assured you will be together again,
one day.
And if in the waiting, the pain should feel altogether "to big",
know there are those that care, and willingly will bear the grief side by your side.

I came back to see if I could learn more about this travesty, and I read Marge's reply.

Again, I wrap my arms around you with loving comfort and send up prayers for peace and healing for all her loved ones left behind. I am deeply saddened for you all.

Love & Eternal Light,
EA

Lady Kate - I too am so sorry to hear of this tragedy especially as I have a son also born in 1982.  You have written a wonderful and stirring tribute to Mia that cannot fail to touch all who read.  So much sadness in the world that one can get quite overcome at times and yet we somehow or other manage to live through it.  I still don't know how though.  My best to you and yours.

There is nothing -- nothing -- so deep as a mother's pain. A father's may as acute, but a mothers....nothing ever runs so deep.
