Do not weep for them, madre. They are gone forever, the little ones,
straight to heaven to the saints, and God will fill the bullet holes with candy.

               ~  Norman Rosten

oh God
this time
it will take much more
than candy

tiny girl
in Lebanon
shrouded in bandages and burns
not even one relative left
but she will never know
she’s on her way

small blond
kepah boy
in Israel
walking among ruins
on stick legs
humming
does not know
he’s on his way

give them more than
starbursts and
gummi bears
God
it’s just not enough
this time

Lady, I add my prayer to yours.  I don't understand this war any more than the others as it rages against innocence.

God love us All.  ~ Klassy

No sugar can ease this pain.  No chocolates or licorice twists.  Thank you.  Just thank you.
