back door to mexico
when the night women speak easy
to the watcher eye men
feed them bosoms of companionship
lest they grow bitter in the sun

old iron has her gallop on
like painted sin perfume
she moves my bones on her metal
with the hand ends of go fast
and I follow her eye

searching some highway nowhere
for just a hole to dive through
inside the belly of her invisible
but she whispers loud too
and the watcher eyes wonder

was she there harvesting again
or is it the echoes of stones
bending the roots of manzanita
into halos for dust devils
that dance beyond the brawley town

on the slippery side of arizona
______________

I believe some
cacti will flower now
in the rain
that will follow...

DS...The places she goes are nothing compared to the poetry you create from it.
