Darn It!

I caught you this morning
waking me up
nudge    twirl
when I was already waltzing
on the dance floor of my pillow

In and out the naked curves
within my head you played
giving to me thoughts and words
saying   don’t you want to play

Oh I listened   of course I did
tell me    how could I not
the sky was not yet visible
and still it was so hot

I rhymed a few    not me you see
my eyes closed made invisibility
give me just a moment I mumbled
as the dream began to crumble

Dream me back to my delight
I know I felt within the night
the doors still there at half a crack
hear the music from the back

The battle on the window lighting
it was so clear the birds could hear
the clamor of my heart so open
to stay the dream or write a poem

The words have will and won this round
but darn it I can’t remember now
and all those torrid luscious dreams
I recall even less you see

Oh, I love the dancing and twirling of words in this poem, and understand not wanting to wake up from torrid luscious dreams, not even for my muse.

Isn't that just the way of it....but, Martie, I think you really did capture the essence.   ....jo

What a wonderful dream...dance on sweet lady~
Hugs, Nancy

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

These lines, from the middle, and the four in the middle of these....they ring out like strings drawn into tune. Hold to every thread of the dream....sometimes they do come true, you know, or come back within you again....and turn to poetry.
