A Breeze of a Day

Fans cool my thoughts,
as clouds roll in.
Another day of heat
to bleed through memories.

Each to and fro
swinging, calming my life
listening to Joan and Carly
and voices from the past.

People smiling
while turning the corner
as I hum to the tunes,
smile back and offer a wink.

A perfect day,
an even softer evening
aware of every word,
minding my thoughts...

And those of a better tomorrow.

M

Oh Maureen!!
How I do wish I could join you on your porch swing in this heat!
That is your veranda, right?
I'm sure I recognize it..with the gazebo corner..
I love your place!!
And your words?  PERFECT!!

Now you're gonna have me humming "The Night They Tore Old Dixie Down" all day!

I can hear the tunes and imagine the scenario you paint very well...what a pleasant way to spend time. That's a beautiful porch, too...

Well done, favorite swinger of mine

Oh how I envy you! Not only for such a great porch, but for such a "cool" write too!

Nancy, yes that is the front corner of my wrap around porch..we used some good paint  the last time about 5 years ago..it's still holding up... a quick plug for Behr paint
I love it here, too and hope to be able to remain here.
I  worked on relaxing for a day...not an easy thing for me to do lately.
You are always welcome to come visit.

M

Dixie, thanks the view is ok while swinging if  you like to watch the traffic go by..it use to be so quiet around here until they changed the truck route to Hanover and Gettysburg through here.

Hey there Mike, I have been in an "old" mood for a few days..maybe because I like ballads I love my porch, and my home and gardens, but as I get older the work sure is alot...but worth it.

Thank you, I was thinking of titling it "Swinging"...

Munda, thank you...my home was built in 1901 and it took "us" over 20 years to renovate..now it's time to redo and replace... it never ends~~
It is my sanctuary...for reading, writing and relaxing.
