Egads. Sleep deprivation has SO much to answer for.

~*Star-Daemon*~

With Hands of frail obsidian, Star-Daemon sculpts the sky
His eyes like frozen catacombs, from shattered worlds gone by
Celestial calligrapher, ghostwriter of the night
He scrawled the sundered leagues of hell, the cosmic meadows white
The galaxies were prophecies, the ragged stars His thralls
The moon His sylph-like battleship; the clouds beneath Him crawl
With nightmares of the Gods impaled upon His hornèd helm
Like ocean mist ascending swift, He views His lonely realm
Beneath His feet, the cosmos weeps - a silent, aching waste
Ice-tempests float like broken wings, through aeons long displaced
Blue sprites of Winter creep the void, betwixt the sundered stars
Their footprints scale unearthly vales - a thousand sapphire scars
Star-Daemon watches, eyes intent, in wonder He pursues
The spirits flit like thunder-dust into the moonlit blue
To green earth leap the laughing sprites, their silver hair ablaze
Star-Daemon flies above our skies, and hither casts His gaze
The mountains tall beneath him sprawl, and lucid oceans breathe
Like sea-beds hang the emerald fields, and earthbound breezes seethe
The mortal lands hold nothing for a creature such as He
No sustenance, nor maintenance from worldly strand or sea
Yet still He leaps, and sweetly weeps - the earthly mountains shake
In beauty fearless, splendour peerless, silently He breaks
He looks like fear, like chiming spears, or the taste of windy skies
By dawn defiled, at life He smiles, and so at last He dies.

Where black, bleeding roses await the Thirteen,
I see not the stars, but the darkness between
