and the livin
is easy

sultry sounds from my youth
summertime
porgy and bess
and somehow the world
still looked as if
I could offer it something
positive
to offset
the negatives

and here it is again
summertime
and the livin
is easy
because I have a place to live
no one is shooting at me
my child has food and clean water
my birds chirp happy tunes
(except when a big bird flies by)

but my feet are draggin these days,
weary of the treacherous boulders in the pathway
and the constant assault of beastly burdens,
the weight of the world upon shoulders
that only an Atlas could support

today I must re-invent myself again,
rededicate pebbles of Peace
to the pond of Hope,
lift my chin
from the quagmire
and keep my eyes
on clear skies,
maybe watch
the catfish jumpin
and try to believe

livin is easy

I know Kacy...I feel it as well.

And, you must also know I am going to
have that song, 'Summertime' playin' in my head all day!

Love ya lady~
Nancy

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Kacy~

'rededicate pebbles of Peace
to the pond of Hope'

I'm here to skip pebbles across that same pond with you~

this reminds me of a song that "shoulda" been in Porgy and Bess
and this

today I must re-invent myself again,
rededicate pebbles of Peace
to the pond of Hope,
lift my chin
from the quagmire
and keep my eyes
on clear skies,
maybe watch
the catfish jumpin
and try to believe

livin is easy

I don't know if this will help but just in the past two days, I heard a quote, and don't remember who said it or if I read it or heard it somewhere else but it goes like this...

"Learn to embrace all the heartaches and pain with love"

and at the time we're going thru something, it's difficult to be stable, but afterwards, when you have time to kick your feet up and really evaluate things, it surely makes all the sense in the world

love to you

thanks ladies
and even as I grab my copy of the Art of Happiness, by the Dalai Lama,
I have been reading news from MidEast Web: http://www.mideastweb.org/goals.html
and a story today from an American student evacuated from Beirut:
