Seed fluff floats,
like souls abandoned.
Kites and football,
how i tire of
these hot languid days,
too many for me now.
Never do i tire
of birds colours,
their life a joy,
a miracle witnessed.
My mind is thrown
forward to chill
evenings of stars
and frost glittering,
mornings of mist
vaporising from earth,
crisp sunshine scenes,
flawless days of grace
and beauty shimmering bright.

Looking forward to cooler days ahead.  Even my plants are staggering in the heat...however...you said it well!

I especially like the line breaks that you used.  It lends clarity to your words.

Hi Phil...
Your imagery brings this piece to life.
Wonderfully penned.

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.
