Listening to every heart

Secretly Yours

In an odd, old house
where weathered windows
weep with runneled tears
that slip slide the countenance
of visiting faces

well, this is where explorations are born…
behind the lime of cornered stones
that raise heritage into legacy,
this is where reflections are found.

I live here, amid the cobwebs
of a Copperfield tale, and Tennyson’s
soliloquies, with Byron moments
and a line or two, oh, no,
but all the pages of Narnia…and more.

I, am a story.
No, maybe I am a challenge.
Perhaps, I am just a whim of thought.
I am held within a cover,
warmly secured by stitch or glue,
still and enough, I can be handled
and stroked, coveted by you.

When some people choose to read
and I am raised to light,
I can weather any stormy conflict
and be read by candlelight.

Here I live, by your fingers I run free;
in an odd old house, by windows
that runnel free, of great tombed ghosts
by rivers of mind that channel
here I hold and here the key…

unlock your mind, and open me.
Please, touch me.  Let loose your mind,
and explore my leaves.

I am yours, for some wondrous moment.

I came to read your words because I feel and see beauty in them.  I loved the magic of this poem as I loved the imagry.  Mostly, though, I am loving your visions and ability to express them.

You have given the written word a personality of its own to charm the eye of the lucky soul who can open a book and comprehend.  May this poem be added to the list along with those it mentions.  I loved it.  Joyce

Beautiful indeed Karilea.
I could actually feel the cover of the book,
smell the worn pages..
you always take me there.

Reminds me of your wondrous book! Just so, the touch of secretness and intimacy. Highly appealing.

Intriguingly beautiful!

Karilea, a story to be read, this was wonderful my friend and very much enjoyed.

Here I live, by your fingers I run free;

Run my friend and enjoy the freedom, since I am a very slow reader, who enjoys your every word.

Sincerely
Rick

Karilea,

I could really feel the calling in your poem as you opened up such mystery and intrigue so personified within the pages of great literary art.

Excellently Written.

God bless.

how true!  Makes me want to pick up a book right this minute!  Excellent imagery and
movement.  Another one for the library...
Thanks, Karilea, for the inspirational poem.

I always knew you had a spine! I enjoy your appendix also, not to mention that dog-eared look you sport. Your tale is spell-binding...

ok, ok, ok...sometimes puns just have to come out but, on a serious side, this is a beautiful piece of writing and your descriptiveness sets a wonderful image of a library, a lamp on the desk emitting a soft glow and a bowed head with sparkling eyes devouring words like candy. It also has your standard touch of fragility which makes it very special.....nicely done.

It did indeed set the scene as Michael pointed out, and this was a very delicate, and beautiful piece Karilea.

oh so descriptive of a place....somewhat
familiar within a wandering mind.

Thanx for the gift given to us.
