strolling the warm sands,
Silverstrand to the Rincon

oh my, but now my feet are warmed
silver stranded in memories...
visiting friends on
anacapa st
then down ocean drive
to the rudder room,
hours of volleyball in the sand
or pool cue poised in hand inside
trying my best to stay
outta troubles pathway
eating pismo clam chowder
then cruising up the coast
to surfer's point and the rincon,
with a crazy diver and some surfer friends,
mixed together with music,
hot wheels and tatoos,
jack cheesey ab-rillenos on the 4th
served up with firecrackers
at an end-of-the-block party
and oh my,
what you've dredged up
with your silverstrand write

now the surf is up
but I am boardless,
just hanging over the edge
of a swivel chair,
algae blue/green screen
instead of waves
glaring at me

the poetry that inspired...
thank you Dark, for the waves

Hey Kacy...

did you ever have a chance
long ago
to dig for clams
along Pismo?

I did...

Yes, Kari, many many times years ago, as I grew up in So Cal. Though a few times in ER over seafood allergies has basically stopped me from indulging in shellfish now. I still remember the feel of feet sinking deeply into the wet sand.

Oooh...you make me want to go there..
Thank you for this Kacy..
Hugs

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Kacy

I've been on that trip....a most wonderful place to be, isn't it...even in memory.

Wonderful memories, Kacy. You've
opened the beach part of me.
Now I need to go to the ocean.

Kacy, now you have me
looking over my shoulder
and wondering
was there ever
a low slung black harley
parked on the sidewalk
in front of the rudderroom

when you were there?

wink
