My lovely daughter,

I'll leave the porch light on for you,
in case you come back home.
Your always welcome here you know,
no matter where you roam.

I wish you luck, I really do.
For you I want good things.
Happiness and sense of worth,
That's why I gave you wings.

Love, Mom

ohh Tina, how loving and beautiful this is.  It makes me think how quickly the next 10 years are going to go, when I'll have to give my own daughter her wings

Daughters, Sons...
we teach them to walk, run,
fly with their dreams...

and never clip their wings
so they may be free...

I know the heart of this, Tina...
and I know how easy
it is not.

Thank you. This was written during that dreaded painful moment upon her telling me she was leaving. Luckily she came back...if only for a while. *sigh*
