On gift of wind
I could sometimes rise
But gravity always
Conquered dreams

I envied clay
Its power to stand
In cube of brick
In potter’s hand

Then you offered
Lift, life
And love enabled
Form

More than mere castle
By the sea
With your touch
I became

me

Did you hear my song
As at last I soared?
I had no mouth
But oh, I sang

Until again alone
I shattered,
Scattered grains
On each breath of breeze

Worth of me
Just memory

SweetSuthernLady~
Oh, but what a beautiful memory your footprints would make in someone's sand~

By the sea
With your touch
I became

me'

Oh my...how beautiful!!
Hugs~Nancy

For it was not into my ear you whispered
But into my heart..
It was not my lips you kissed
But my soul.

Oh, suthern.  This is worthy and beautiful, just like you!  I know sometimes I have been picked up by the wind to feel free and confident, later to be placed on too familiar ground where I...  We just have to stand and know that we are as valued as theflowers and rain.  You are certainly one of my favorite poets and people.  Take care.

hugs,
misce

Ah, Laura...I've had this exact feeling...but couldn't find a way to say it with the kind of poise and beauty that you do. This is simply excellent.

This is heart-rending but beautiful, dear southern lady! Just reading it makes mine ache right along with yours.
