dainty figurines posed on benches, worn by weather
as bleeding charcoal skies tumbled forward,
to try and coax faces that were already hidden by shadows
into fleeing for cover.
they were told to dash beneath a near-by awning, a store-front's stoop,
or maybe into the bind of the arm's
belonging to a boy no stronger than themselves,
but who was loved more than they could prove with the skin they collected under their fingernails.
his chin dropped low, to protect her painted features from streaking down,
while the girl herself raised her eyes to the storm
with such a glint and taste of awe,
that those so wet their skin streamed glassy pools infused with gold,
brought palms to face and mopped the shining liquid from their scope
so that they could better watch-and become entranced with the wave and winding ripples
of the colors in her skirt
as she'd twist and turn and cause delight
until she stood, arms straight out and neck craned back,
chest aimed up, with her mouth and eyes stretched wide,
mid-intersection,
and the ever-bright girl ignored the screech and skids of cars
as they crashed and flamed behind her back,
for she was far too busy dancing in the sunshine no one else could see.

this sounds like what ive been writing lately...i like it. and the subject matter is great it is what would happen if grown people started acting like three year old children, but more poetic

ahh yes. that kind of is what it's about. at least the last half of it. adults and people in mature relationships acting like little kids, but in a pretty light hearted way
